Scientific excellence and impeccable analytical standards are a prerequisite for achieving the ESPON EGTC’s goal of continuing to be widely recognised as the benchmark for European territorial evidence production. It is in this context that the ESPON EGTC is seeking to contract Senior Scientific Quality Management on a three-year fixed-term external expertise service contract to provide scientific advisory support to the ESPON EGTC.

The overall objectives of this service contract for Senior Scientific Quality Management shall be as follows:

• To provide strategic scientific advisory support to the ESPON EGTC staff, including to the director; the head of unit responsible for evidence and outreach; and, where necessary, to Project Support Teams (PSTs) which have been established to provide policy steering and advice to various research activities.
• Give independent guidance on scientific matters to ESPON EGTC Project Experts responsible for project development and implementation, in particular related to applied research activities but also in response to related activities being implemented by the ESPON EGTC, including targeted analyses (Specific Objective 2); territorial monitoring and tools (Specific Objective 3), and outreach activities (Specific Objective 4), as requested.
• Offer scientific feedback and peer-review on specific deliveries from research activities, drawing on the most recent and relevant research and state-of-the-art knowledge.
• Act as a knowledge broker in supporting the ESPON EGTC, bridging to the academic world and contributing to scientific feedback from research to policy.

Budget

The maximum available budget for this contract is 300.000,00 exclusive of VAT but inclusive of all other taxes, disbursements, travel, accommodation and delivery costs.
