Akureyri – Iceland, 22 and 23 August 2013   The ENECON team has just pre-announced its conference “Climate Change in Northern Territories - Sharing Experiences, Exploring New Methods and Assessing Socio-Economic Impacts”.

The Inception Report informs about the thematic orientation, concept and planned steps to develop the atlas. A brief history of atlases and atlas-type documents as well as basic cartographic principles are given.

Prague, 22 November 2012 The ESPON TOWN project (Small and Medium-Sized Towns) invites to its first international workshop “Toward EU2020 - Framing a research agenda for Small and Medium-Sized Towns”.

Stockholm, 15-16 November 2012 The Territorial Agenda 2020 and the Europe 2020 Strategy highlight sustainable, smart and inclusive growth as desirable development paths. The project ENECON organises a workshop to discuss the dimension of the concepts “sustainability” and “sustainable regions”.

The Interim Report presents preliminary results and considerations of policy relevant implications.

The aim of this Applied Research Project is to provide profound knowledge on EU neighbour regions in order to support targeted policy development in the light of Cohesion Policy.
