Call for Tenders for proofreading and editing services
The service contract shall provide proofreading and editing of selected ESPON publications, reports and other communication material.
Tasks
The service provider will carry out the following two main tasks:
- Proofreading comprises reviewing and correcting spelling, grammar, syntax and usage of terminology, applying the Corporate Identity Spelling and Style for ESPON and the conventions of the EU Interinstitutional Style Guide, checking the accuracy and consistency of references throughout the document and ensuring a consistent structure of chapters and sections.
- Editing includes all the elements in proofreading but also refers to improving the structure, clarity and readability of the text by redrafting and/or reordering text, removing repetitions, querying ambiguities, harmonising different writing styles, simplifying convoluted sentences, reviewing the choice of words and semantics, and, where appropriate, suggesting the addition, deletion or restructuring of whole sections in order to convey the messages more effectively.

Budget
The maximum available budget for this contract is EUR 30,000.00 exclusive of VAT but inclusive of all other taxes, disbursements, travel, accommodation and delivery costs.

Deadline
Tenders must be delivered in one original and one copy in English language at the latest by 10 October 2017 at 10:00 (CET - Central European Time) to the EGTC in Luxembourg.
