The service contract resulting from this call for tender on “The Future of Europe’s Shrinking Rural Regions: Trends, Perspectives & New Agendas for Territorial Governance” shall contribute to further developing and improving the ESPON knowledge base. In this context, it will also contribute to enhancing the European territorial evidence production through applied research and analysis in the framework of the Single Operation under the ESPON 2020 Cooperation Programme. The service shall provide knowledge and evidence on the differentiated causes and consequences of socio-economic change in Europe’s rural regions; explore potential innovative territorial governance solutions for rural regions experiencing acute, and often irreversible depopulation and economic decline, and offer recommendations for the better coordination and effectiveness of policy interventions, particularly for the targeted design, implementation and funding of integrated place-based strategies within the context of European Union (EU) Rural Development and Cohesion Policy.

Budget

The maximum available budget for this contract is EUR 650,000.00 (six hundred and fifty thousand Euros), EXCLUSIVE of VAT but inclusive of all other taxes, disbursements, travel, accommodation and delivery costs.
