The potential development gains from territorial cooperation within macro-regions are obvious. Macro-regions are a tool of regional policy but the sector view is sometimes more prominent than the explicit spatial dimension. This session will present new ESPON evidence on territorial scenarios and spatial perspectives (2050) developed for the Alpine Space and Baltic Sea Region using a participatory approach with the stakeholders that could provide evidence and inspiration for other EU macro-regions.
